Helen Chen holds a doctoral degree in structural engineering. She has over ten years of experience as a Professional Engineer. Before she joined American Iron and Steel Institute as a senior cold-formed steel design engineer, Dr. Chen worked for a structural consulting firm and a metal building manufacturer in Ohio. Her design experience includes reinforced concrete structures and steel structures.
Dr. Chen currently serves as the Secretary of AISI Committee on Specifications. She is a member of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She is also a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and Kentucky.
